The Bash is like one big family outing. Lots to eat, fun and games, things to see and discover, but it wouldn't be complete without a great afternoon of the best bluegrass has to offer. Well, we have that too! The Suncoast BBQ and Blugrass Bash presents top International Bluegrass Music Association award-winning and Grammy-nominated acts
The Swinging Bridge Band has developed into the best band to come out of the Southwest Florida area in recent memory. Their great lead singing, tight harmonies, dazzling instrumental breaks, and dead-on timing puts them on a par with some of the foremost nationally known bands. The band has a great on-stage personality. They make the audience feel that they are included in the fun the band is having on stage. They have a repertoire of songs and instrumentals that draws from traditional and contemporary Bluegrass, Country, and other genres to create a show that is a treat for any bluegrass fan.
From the moment of their brilliant self-titled debut in 2013, it’s been clear that Flatt Lonesome is a musical force to be reckoned with. Multiple International Bluegrass Music Association, Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America, and Dove nominations and awards, top charting songs, Billboard charting albums, countless media appearances (including becoming familiar faces on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage), and a demanding tour schedule, all combine in testimony to the phenomenon that is Flatt Lonesome. In the wake of three top IBMA honors in 2016, (Vocal Group, Song, and Album of the Year), and Vocal Group for the 2017 awards, Flatt Lonesome has emerged from the studio with their latest album, Silence In These Walls. This band of six awe-inspiring musicians dug deep into a well of emotion, to expressive vocal and instrumental performances, to increasingly sophisticated songwriting, and to inventive arrangements. With a clear sense of direction, these young artists keep raising the bar on their own creative game.
Timely yet timeless, The Grascals make music that is entirely relevant to the here and now, yet immersed in traditional values of soul and musicianship. It’s a unique sound that has earned three Grammy® nominations and two Entertainer of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association, as well as national media attention that seems to perpetually elude acts entrenched in niche genres.
Lonesome River Band
Lonesome River Band’s enduring career includes 17 albums, three of which were released in 2012 in celebration of the group’s 30th anniversary. Lonesome River Band has received other awards from IBMA including Album of the Year, along with numerous awards from SPBGMA including being named Bluegrass Band of Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Song of the Year and Shelor as Banjo Player of the Year.
