The Boxcars in six years have become a household name in the bluegrass world. They were nominated for a Grammy in 2013. International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Instrumental Group of the year 3 times. IBMA 2011 Emerging Artist of the Year, Adam Steffey has won the IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year 11 times and Ron Stewart IBMA Banjo Player of the Year in 2011. This band is known for their tight performances, great vocalist and incredible breaks. The band is made up of Adam Steffey, Manolin-vocals, Ron Stewart, banjo/fiddle-vocals, Keith Garrett, guitar-vocals, Harold Nixon bass-vocals and Gary Hultman, dobro-vocals.
Good bluegrass indeed! The Boxcars are 8 time IBMA winners and the album has garnered a GRAMMY NOMINATION for Best Bluegrass Album in the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out
Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out will celebrate 25 years of making ground-breaking music when the band commences their 2016 touring schedule. Moore is the International Bluegrass Music Association’s most awarded male vocalist, taking home the award a record five times. Joined by four unequivocally talented musicians with Wayne Benson on mandolin, Justen Haynes on fiddle, Keith McKinnon on banjo, and Jerry Cole on bass, this band continues to bring fresh music to the ears while staying true to the tradition that has made them an industry favorite for over two decades.
Lonesome River Band
Lonesome River Band’s enduring career includes 17 albums, three of which were released in 2012 in celebration of the group’s 30th anniversary. The band received the 2012 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Award for Instrumental Recorded Event of the Year for their song “Angeline the Baker” from their CHRONOLOGY Volume One album along with Sammy Shelor taking home his fifth win as the 2012 IBMA Banjo Performer of the Year. Lonesome River Band has received other awards from IBMA including Album of the Year, along with numerous awards from SPBGMA including being named Bluegrass Band of Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Song of the Year and Shelor as Banjo Player of the Year.
